Minutes of Seaville Monthly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends

First Month, 19. 2020

Twleve Friends gathered for meeting for worship with a concern for business. Meeting began with a brief period of silent worship.


The Treasurer’s report was received.


The clerk reported:

-We received a thank you from the branches for our donations of money and clothing.

-We received a letter from Kennet Monthly Meeting who have started a fund for   immigrant support. They are asking for funds to help with this. Meeting approved sending $250 immediately and possibly more later.

-Quarterly Meeting is now incorporated. 

-The clerk reported on the labyrinth project.

We recieved a bid for installation of the labyrinth of 4, 500 and an additional $1000 for a 20 foot walkway at the entrance to the labyrinth.Meeting approved. Meeting gives approval for the clerk or committee to negotiate hav- ing the materials delievered to the contractor’s yard. Meeting apoproved going to the same contractor to repair and extend the pavers in front of the meeting..


Property and Finance Committee reported:
-Meeting is looking into installing handicapped parking signs. Meeting approved the expenditure. 

-The committee is installing a handicappede toilet in the larger bathroom.


The Peace and Social Concerns committee reported:

-We will reinstate our peace vigil at the peace sign. on the first Sunday of the month directly at the rise of meeting. We will wait in silence with signs.

-We will have a presence at the Trump rally in Wildwood on January 28. We have signs. We will arrange for parking at the meeting house and look into the possibility of parking at the Methodist Church in Seaville. Bob and Mike will look into the possibility of teaming up with the Democratic Club to possible share a bus.

-Mr. Bruderwill be speaking to the meeting on April 8 on John Woolman. We need someone to provide an over- night stay for him.

-We will be looking into having a speaker come as William Penn, probably in May.   WEeneed to think about our legislative priorities for FCNL.

-The committee is investigating whether we would like to hold political figures in the light.

Other concerns::
It was suggested for a quarterly meeting held here that we have the gentleman who gave us advice on our trees. Meeting decided to let this season.
